How fast can I get a HELOC?
Sometimes in about a week. Here is what drives the timeline.
By James Forte, NMLS 16443 · Updated October 13, 2026
Short answer: With the HELOC product we offer, a line can close in as little as 7 days, often with no appraisal. That is how the product is built, not a promise. Title, payoff information, your documents, and state law can all add time.
What makes a fast HELOC possible
- Automated valuation. Many files use an automated value instead of waiting on a full appraisal.
- Digital documents. Income and asset verification can move quickly when you return documents quickly.
- A simple title. One owner, one first mortgage, and no surprises in the title search.
What slows it down
- A property that needs a full appraisal (unusual, rural, or high-value homes)
- Title issues such as old liens, trusts, or recent ownership changes
- Slow responses to document requests
- State recording requirements and taxes, which vary by state and county
- Rescission: on a primary residence, federal rules generally give you three business days after signing before funds are released.
How to move fastest
- Have your latest mortgage statement, ID, and income documents ready.
- Know roughly what your home is worth and what you owe.
- Answer document requests the same day.
- Apply or call (475) 215-5401.

Frequently asked questions
Can a HELOC really close in 7 days?
It can. This product is designed to close in as little as 7 days, often with no appraisal. Many files take longer for ordinary reasons, and no timeline is guaranteed.
Does a HELOC always skip the appraisal?
No. Many files use an automated valuation, but some properties and loan amounts require a full appraisal.
When can I use the money after closing?
On a primary residence there is generally a three-day rescission period after signing before funds are available. Second homes and investment properties typically do not have that period.
